Just SEO Love
Marketing to the Social Web by: Larry Webber
So this weekend, I drove down to the South Florida, where I saw a GREAT play, The Searfarer. It was designed by a really great Scenic Designer by the name of Sean McClelland. It so reminded my of my English roots and was very funny:)….ok, so that has NOTHING to do with the book I read, but had to give a shout out, since this play was WONDERFUL.
On the way home from this great weekend, I read (don’t fret, my sister was driving) Marketing to the Social Web, by Larry Weber, who gave WONDERFUL information on SEO and social media marketing. Here are some random snippets that I got from the book, which I have almost finished:
- The Japanese are the most active bloggers
- Companies should add personal product reviews, services and experiences to their blog
- Have content created by YOUR customers on your blog or website
- Individuals ARE media…see, I am writing this and therefore I AM media
- Subservientchicken.com sounds super fun!
- Have an editorial strategy and plan and stick to it!
- Think of the social web as a cocktail party…SWEET, I’M IN!!!
- Paid media needs to support growth of social media
- pg 109!!!!”Marketing on the social web will cost a large company far less and return far more than almost any other marketing activity.”
- Getmevistors.com and Baynote.com
I recommend this be “Summer Reading” for all of us Web 2.0 people, because there is alot of good information to read. Don’t forget to take notes!
