This is Me!

Hello there! My name is Victoria Edwards and work in search engine optimization and social media. Born in Farnborough, Hampshire, UK. When I was eighteen months old, my family moved to Bermuda, where I grew and refer to it as my home. When I was 16, my parents moved to Tampa, FL, where I finished high school. I graduated from International Academy of Design and Technology. Below is a brief look into my professional and personal life. Thanks for visiting!

Professional:

Starting out as a freelance graphic designer, I had the opportunity to work with Rooms To Go and their Disney collection of furniture and accessories, as well as other clients such as stylists, and small businesses.

After realizing that I wanted to be involved with the marketing side of a business, I landed a job as a marketing specialist and graphic designer for a manufacturing company, Edwards Manufacturing Industries (EMI). While working for EMI, I was aware of their website and how it could be utilized to gain new customers and possibly lead to new business, however there was no way for people to find the site, unless you knew who EMI was. This got me thinking as to how people find things they want on the internet and how to go about doing so. After doing some research I became aware that what I was studying was called SEO or search engine optimization. The more I read, the more I realized how powerful this could be to so many companies and pretty much anyone or anything that wanted to be heard on the internet. I immersed myself more and more into SEO.

A month or so after my researching, I stumbled across an internet marketing site called HubSpot. HubSpot not only has a system for people to easily design their site, but once you sign up with them they offer a HUGE wealth of knowledge regarding SEO, social media, how to attract people to your site, how to sell your product and so on. HubSpot truly engaged me more and more into SEO and how to fully optimize a website and things to consider when redesigning a website. Edwards Manufacturing signed up with HubSpot and I quickly learned all I could learn so I could not only become more school SEO, but also was allowed to redesign their whole site, using HubSpot’s CMS (Content Management System).

Once I completed the redesign of EMI’s site, I realized how more and more interested I became in SEO and all that’s involved to the point where I wanted to focus soley on SEO and social media. Not long after I made this decision did I find a company that would let me do this.

I joined LinkShare in September 2008, and am very fortunate to be active in what I love and be able to do it day in and day out. I work on their propreitary websites and also am involved with social media.

When I am NOT working:

One thing I remember my parents saying to me was find something you love and then figure a way how to make a living doing it. Luckily my passion is SEO and social media, so when I am not working, I am researching and helping others with their sites. I am also a volunteer with the Humane Society of Tampa Bay and do what I can for them.

One day while on their site, I realized how important SEO and social media is for non profit organizations! It is something that once is learned and practiced can draw attention and people and the best part is that it’s does not cost thousands of dollars as ad campaigns.
